The BeatBlocks Experience

The BeatBlocks Installation and app, developed by Playable Technology, has made a significant impact in the world of interactive music and art. It has been experienced by over 150,000 families across various high-profile venues, including the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh International Science Festival, and the London Science Museum’s “Turn It Up” exhibition.
This innovative platform uses AI-driven music sequencing and LEGO bricks to transform physical play into real-time musical compositions, earning it the Silver Award for Best Use of AI at the BIMA Awards in 2023. It has also gained global recognition, representing the UK at SXSW 2023 and participating in the BEYOND Conference, further cementing its status as a leader in creative digital music experiences. Additionally, it was a top contender at the Scottish Games Awards for its creative impact.
BeatBlocks continues to inspire non-musicians and young people with additional needs by offering an accessible, playful, and educational digital experience that bridges the gap between tactile play and digital creativity. The format is so approachable and easy to learn, it’s been a joy seeing people of all ages creating music together in an uninhibited way.
